The Friends of He’eia is a non-profit organization that has provided the community with environmental and cultural Education programs since 1984, serving over 175,000 students.

The Purpose of the Friends of He'eia is to provide the community with educational and interpretive programs to help them better understand the valuable natural and cultural resources of the Koolaupoko area and Kaneohe Bay. The park serves as our outdoor classroom where subjects come to life and are experiential.

All programs begin with an overview of the park and Ahupua’a system, regarding resource management. Through hands on activities the students are better able to conceptualize the ideas of preservation and conservation. We invite teachers to plan a picnic lunch on the park grounds after their program.
